Fly Fishing, Nature & Visual Storytelling

Fly fishing is more than a subject — it’s a lens through which I explore people, landscapes, and the fragile connection between the two. It brings me into remote environments, introduces me to individuals shaped by water, and offers a quiet, intentional rhythm that’s reflected in my work.

This series focuses on life around the water: not only the act of fishing, but the world that surrounds it — the early mornings, the silence between casts, the texture of a place, and the people whose lives are closely tied to these natural spaces. My approach combines documentary and landscape photography, with an emphasis on authenticity, story, and sense of place.

Underlying much of this work is a concern for the environmental pressures facing these ecosystems — from pollution and overuse to climate change. These images are not just about capturing beauty, but about raising awareness of what’s at risk and worth protecting.

If you’re developing an editorial piece related to nature, conservation, or culture through the lens of fly fishing, I’m open to thoughtful collaborations.

My approach to visual storytelling!

  • Setting the Scene

Capturing the mood, the scenery, and the surrounding landscape and activity!

  • The Human Aspect

    Uncovering the Personalities!

  • Capturing The Action

Capturing and narrating the action while being out there in and on the water, whether it is fresh or saltwater!

On a Personal Note:

I’ve been fly fishing for nearly 30 years, exploring both salt and freshwater environments across the world. What began as a personal pursuit has grown into a deeper connection with the places, cultures, and ecosystems that surround the sport.

I practice ethical, catch-and-release fly fishing with a strong focus on sustainability and respect—for the fish, the water, and the fragile ecosystems they’re part of.

That same mindset guides my video—and photography—documenting not just the action, but the experience, the environment, and the responsibility that comes with being out there.
